Grade 12 exams went well in North West

Despite threats of community protests, Grade 12 examinations have gone well in the North West province, the provincial department of education said on Monday.
“National Senior Certificate [NSC] examinations started on 26 October 2015 and the department announced no major irregularities reported. In areas where civil protests occurred, the department moderated the situation by moving candidates to less risky examinations centres with on-going monitoring by the department’s senior management,” said spokesman Elias Malindi.
The final paper was complete on Friday and marking of scripts started on Monday. A total of 33,844 candidates wrote Grade 12 examination in North West.
It was expected that marking would be concluded by December 14 and results would be announced on January 6 at Hoerskool Wolmaransstad with supplementary examinations scheduled for February 10 to March 17 next year.
