Gupta worker held for robbery
Updated | By Staff Writer
A domestic worker has been arrested in connection with a house robbery at a Gupta family home in Houghton, Gauteng police said on Thursday.
The worker was arrested on Wednesday in Benoni, said Colonel Lungelo Dlamini. She had disappeared shortly after three men in two vehicles robbed the house earlier in the day. Apparently the men overpowered a gardener at noon and stole money, household goods, and jewellery. It was not immediately clear which of the Guptas owns the house. "The domestic worker was found in possession of some of the stolen goods," Dlamini said. She would appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Friday. Police were searching for the men.
