Guptas 'appalled' by treatment from authorities
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The Gupta family has responded to authorities conducting investigations into alleged irregularities relating to their companies - calling it a witch hunt.

The controversial family slammed authorities, dubbing their actions highly incompetent and biased.
Through their legal team the family said their prosecution is related to recent political developments.
The National Prosecuting Authority's, Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU), raided the Gupta's Saxonwold compound in Johannesburg for a second time on Monday afternoon.
The AFU obtained a restraint order at the Bloemfontein High Court for those "who were implicated in the offences of theft, fraud and money laundering, in respect of the Vrede dairy project: Estina matter."
The family claims that the action is based on "an appalling lack of understanding of commerce and the true nature of even the very legislation that the NPA works with and should understand."

Gupta family lawyer, Rudi Krause, claims authorities have declined to supply Ajay Gupta with the reported warrant of arrest.
The legal team is now asking whether it even exists.
The NPA could not be reached for comment.
