Gordhan announced new chairpersons for SA Express, Denel and Transnet at a media briefing in Cape Town on Thursday.

Eskom also has a new permanent Chief Executive Officer.

"Cabinet has confirmed the appointment of CEO recommended by the board of Eskom that is the new board, so the new Chief Executive is Mr Phakamani Hadebe.

"In a short period that Mr Hadebe has been in office together with the board made some very important advances, particularly in relation to ensuring that some of those who have been guilty of malfeasance which was exposed both in the parliamentary enquiry and by some of the good work done by journalists, have either resigned or going through disciplinary action," Gordhan said.

The troubled SA Express will be chaired by Mmakeaya Magoo Tryphosa Ramano, while Popo Molefe will chair Transnet.

Monhla Hlahla will remain as chairperson of Denel.

Gordhan said he has confidence in the skills, knowledge, and experience on the newly-constituted boards.
