Hammanskraal residents cautioned over water cuts on Tuesday, Wednesday

"Residents are cautioned not to use tap water for any household purposes during these 32 hours of interruption period as the City’s technicians will be flushing the distribution network," says Lindela Mashigo of the City of Tshwane.

Residents of Hammanskraal and surrounding areas have been informed about urgent maintenance work that needs to be carried out on the water distribution network on Tuesday at 08h00 until Wednesday, 09 October 2019, at 18h00.


"Residents are cautioned not to use tap water for any household purposes during these 32 hours of interruption period as the City’s technicians will be flushing the distribution network," says Lindela Mashigo of the City of Tshwane. 


"The City will make available roaming tankers to supply residents with water."

The following areas will be affected:

  • Temba (Majaneng, Oudstad, Unit D and Manyeleti)
  • Hammanskraal West Extension 0, 1 and 2
  • Sekampaneng
  • Suurman
  • Dilopye
  • Stinkwater
  • Renstown
  • Unit 7
  • Kekana Gardens
  • Mandela Village Extension 2 and 3
  • Kudube Unit
  • Hammanskraal Extension 0, 1 and 2

 

In addition, maintenance of control valves has been scheduled for Olympus on

Tuesday. 


The following areas will be affected by this:

  • Boardwalk Extension 11 and 16
  • Olympus Boulevard Extension 10


"The City apologises profusely to members of the community who will be inconvenienced by this disruption," says  Mashigo.
