Hammanskraal residents making their way to council offices
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Residents of Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, have gathered outside the local municipal offices after houses built on unoccupied land were demolished by the Red Ants on Monday.
Five people have been arrested in connection with the violent protest and damage to property.
Two security guards were killed and three injured.
Residents voiced their frustration on Tuesday afternoon complaining that no-one from the local government or municipality has addressed them.
Residents were accompanied by police as they made their way into town.

Residents were left without roofs over their heads, making fires on the spot to stay warm during the cold winter night.
People explained that they had nowhere else to go and had to stay wake to make sure their possessions were not stolen.
