‘Hands off our Major 1’ - Bushiri supporters protest outside court

Supporters of self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri gathered outside the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday to support the leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECG).

Bushiri and the wife are appearing in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in connection with a fraud and money laundering case totalling R102 million.
His supporters. who were chanting his nickname ‘Major 1’ outside court, reiterated his innocence.
"I came here today to support my prophet who is Major 1,” said one supporter.

“I don't believe he is guilty, he is a victim of the plot by this corrupt government, we will always oppose and we will fight there is nothing you can do about it.”
He believes Bushiri has an assignment in South Africa as a man of God and he will finish it.
Another supporter, who came all the way from Bushbuckridge in Limpopo, said Bushiri deserves justice.
