Harmony sees 16% increase in SA gold production
Updated | By ANA
Harmony Gold announced on Thursday that gold production at its South African operations was up by an impressive 16 percent in the three months to the end of September.
The statement from the miner reported an increase in total gold production of 8-10 percent, noting that production at Hidden Valley in Papua New Guinea had been negatively impacted by a fatality.
Chief executive officer Graham Briggs said: “The September quarter demonstrates that if we focus on what we can control, we are able to benefit from the current higher R/kg gold price”.
The full results for the first quarter are expected on November 5.
