Hawks deny probe against Jonas, Mantashe
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
The Hawks have denied reports that they are investigating
Deputy Minister of Finance Mcebisi Jonas, ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe
and Treasurer Zweli Mkhize.

The Sunday Times is reporting that Jonas, Mantashe and Mkhize have become the latest targets in the state capture saga.
Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says the matter is now in the hands of the judicial inquiry that the Public Protector recommended the President establish in her State Of Capture Report.

"We will be guided by the NPA following the judicial inquiry into this matter on what steps we should take. But to say that there is an investigation by the Hawks against them is totally irresponsible," he says.
Mantashe says he is aware of the Sunday Times report but he is not aware of any investigation against him.
"I read in the newspaper that they will go after Gwede, I do not know what is going after Gwede, and it could mean anything. They may not even need to approach me," he told Jacaranda FM News.
