Hawks deny reports of probe into President Ramaphosa
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Hawks have refuted claims that they are investigating President Cyril Ramaphosa for fraud, theft and contravening the Public Finance Management Act.

This comes after the Mail & Guardian claimed in an article that the elite crime-fighting unit is investigating the president.
"The complainant who is mentioned in the article approached the police in Limpopo wanting to lodge a complaint against the president,” says Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale.
"Arrangements were made for the Hawks’ member to attend to him.
"The Hawks member received and commissioned an affidavit with a copy of a statement signed by Molefe on 14 January 2021.
"The copy of the statement is what is sourced from the media.
"In the complainant’s affidavit, it is stated that he has attached Mr Brian Molefe’s affidavit," said Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale.
Mogale added the statement by the complainant is incorrect as the affidavit of the former Eskom Executive, Brian Molefe, hasn’t been made public.
Molefe has not concluded his testimony to the State Capture Commission.
In regard to the claims made by Molefe at the Zondo Commission related to the alleged relations Ramaphosa has in Glencoe.
Mogale said the Glencoe has been under investigation since September 2017 and is still continuing.
