Hawks spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi confirmed that a task team has been set-up to investigate who are behind the violent protests.

Residents of Hammanskraal, Atteridgeville, Pretoria CBD, GaRankuwa, Mabopane, Mamelodi and Soshanguve took to the streets since Monday night setting alight property and barricading roads.

The violence resulted in some schools having to close amid the mid-year exams while emergency services were also hampered earlier this week.
