Hawks: No collaboration with the FBI in Gupta investigation
The Hawks have not been contacted by the FBI - in connection with reports that US authorities are also investigating two members of the Gupta family, in Houston.
An article in the Financial Times states that the FBI investigation is probing the ties between two nephews of the convertial South AFrican Gupta family, who have a business in Houston - and payments made into a US bank by their Johannesburg based family.
"We have not been contacted by FBI with regards to their investigation. Their investigation and our investigation are separate." says the Hawks' Brigadier Hangweni Mulaudzi.
The Hawks have confirmed that more resources have been added to their probe to assist the investigations.
