Hawks in NW searching for pension fund scammer
The Hawks in North West are searching for a suspect linked to a pension fund scam in Mahikeng.
“The Hawks' Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Mahikeng is seeking the assistance of the community to provide information on the whereabouts or details of the man," says Hawks spokesperson Tlangelani Rikhotso.
The suspect allegedly scammed a woman he met on an online dating app.
“The man is a person of interest in a reported case where a 54-year-old female victim was allegedly scammed of over R2 million rand of her pension pay-out between May and August 2022, by someone she met through Badoo online dating site," says Rikhotso.
