Heatwave to hit Gauteng on Sunday

The South African Weather Service has warned that the heatwave which hit parts of the country on Friday is expected to last until Tuesday.
Forecaster Wayne Venter says South Africa is experiencing a high-pressure system which is leading to the warm to hot conditions across the northern and eastern parts of the country.
"A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the extreme eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the northern and extreme western parts of the Free State, as well as in places of the North West province from today (Friday) until at least Tuesday.”

He says the heatwave is expected to move to Gauteng from Sunday.
"The remaining parts of the country should be hot over the weekend into the week. It should start to cool out with a little cooling coming from Limpopo and Mpumalanga."
