Heavy winds injure three KwaZulu-Natal school children
Updated | By ANA
Three children were injured on Monday morning, following a freak accident at their primary school in KwaZulu-Natal, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the incident occurred in Swayimane in Wartburg, KwaZulu-Natal.
“Paramedics were called to a nearby clinic where three children, aged between seven and 10, were injured after the roof of their classroom blew off in heavy winds.”
Meiring said debris from the roof apparently fell onto the children. On assessment, paramedics discovered that the three children had sustained only minor injuries, Meiring said.
The patients were treated by paramedics and left in the care of nurses at the local clinic, Meiring said.
“After treatment, paramedics went back to the school to make sure that no further injuries were sustained and to ensure that the scene was safe.”
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations in the accident.
