High Court declares lockdown levels 3 and 4 invalid, unconstitutional

The High Court in Pretoria has declared levels 4 and 3 of the lockdown regulations unconstitutional and invalid.
However, the regulations will remain in place for the next 14 days while the government remedies the situation..
The court on Tuesday directed Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, in consultation with the relevant ministers, to review, amend and republish the regulations.

Cabinet said it would comment once it has fully studied the judgment.
Regulations around the ban on the sale of tobacco products have not been affected by the order, since the ban is the subject of a separate legal challenge.
