High hopes for Motsamai's release
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
Confusion reigns over the release of the Pan Africanist Congress' (PAC) Kenny Motsamai on parole.

The Department of Correctional Services says it has not been decided yet whether Motsamai will be released today.
Spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo says the parole board is sitting to make a decision today.
"They will look at Mr Motsamai's profile and make a determination whether or not to grant him full parole," says Nxumalo.
PAC and EFF members are gathered outside Boksburg Correctional Services.

Motsamai has spent nearly 28 years in prison for the murder of a traffic officer in Rustenburg during the apartheid struggle.
He, along with the PAC, maintains he is a political prisoner and his incarceration is unjust.
Motsamai was released on day parole seven months ago.
With these conditions lapsing today, the PAC is confident he will be released on full parole and has planned a day of events in celebration.
