Higher Education aiming to jab over 120 000 staff

The Department of Higher Education has announced that tertiary institution staff aged over the age of 35 will receive Pfizer Covid-19 jab.
The vaccination programme is expected to start on Saturday and conclude in August.
Minister Blade Nzimande was briefing the media on the departmental strategies on the Covid-19 vaccination rollout on Friday.
“Health has made provisions with each site fully dedicated to vaccinate about 300 to 1000 people per day per site," says Nzimande.
"Some of our colleges and universities, such as the staff of False Bay TVET College at a site in Woodstock, South West Gauteng TVET College at a site in Roodepoort, Tshwane North TVET College at a site in Centurion, University of Johannesburg at a site in Midrand will commence vaccinations simultaneously."
Nzimande says an additional 12 sites will be opened across the country.
"Higher Health with the Department of Health and service providers will further open twelve (12) additional sites across Johannesburg, Tshwane, Cape Town, Gqeberha, and eThekwini starting from Monday.
"This will cover over 120 000 staff from universities, TVETs, and Community Education Training colleges in the next 2-3 weeks."
