H&M store in Mall of Africa closes its doors following EFF picket
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Clothing retailer H&M was forced to close the doors of its Mall of Africa shop after a picket by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) on Monday afternoon.

Dozens of EFF members targeted the Mall of Africa shop on Monday afternoon.
Protests broke out after a advertisement showing a black boy wearing a green hoodie with the inscription "coolest monkey in the jungle".
EFF members targeted several H&M stores on Saturday.
Party leader Julius Malema has since justified the decision to picket at the stores saying there is no correct formula in the fight against the oppressor.
We will never be told by any fool on how to fight against our oppression particularly those who have never been at the picket lines. There’s no formula on how you should fight the oppressor, expect more action against all racists, individually and collectively this year. #Siyeza

Mall of Africa's general manager Johann Fourie says the protest action is being monitored by security personnel.
"The safety and security of our customers, staff and tenants is of utmost importance to us and the affected area has been secured by Fidelity Security Services and the South African Police Services (SAPS)."
