The Department of Education in Gauteng has removed Dr Anton Prinsloo from the Hoërskool Eldoraigne to allow the investigation into allegations of misconduct to continue.
Prinsloo has been accused of intimidating staff and threatening to fire them.
Parents subsequently petitioned for his removal.
The department's spokesperson Steve Mabona says Prinsloo is not on suspension, however, he has been transferred to the district office pending a disciplinary hearing.
On Wednesday, Mabona said the allegations did not have any basis as staff members failed to submit statements.
But on Friday, Mabona said there had been developments and staff members were willing to testify against Prinsloo.
"The department has decided to revisit the matter of the Hoërskool Eldoraigne principal since the complainants confirmed their willingness to testify in the hearing and new evidence was also presented. We are currently evaluating all the evidence submitted and will finalise the notice of the hearing within seven working days.
"The principal is currently precautionary transferred to the district, pending the disciplinary process and he has already been informed on the decision. We will continue monitoring the situation.”
