The Department of Home Affairs has announced that operating office hours will be extended temporarily from Tuesday.
In a statement on Monday, the department said the extension was due to meeting the growing demands for services.
Operational hours will be extended with two hours more.
"Home Affairs Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has approved a temporary extension of operating times by two hours at front offices from 08:00 to 17:30 from tomorrow, Tuesday, 27 June 2023 to deal with the high demand for Smart ID Cards and passport services at Home Affairs offices", the statement read.
"This extension applies to the 198 modernised Live Capture offices which can process Smart ID Cards and passports.
"The department usually receives a higher volume of applications during school holidays. To meet demand during this period, we have extended operating hours."
