Horror taxi crash claims 9 lives in Joburg
Nine people have been killed and four others were seriously injured when a taxi overturned on the R82 towards Walkerville, south of Johannesburg this morning.
Paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene found several people ejected from the taxi after it crashed into a concrete bus stop.
According to ER24 there was nothing they could do for them and they were declared dead on the scene.

"Six other people were found with serious to critical injuries. Paramedics stabilised them on the scene and rushed them to various hospitals in the area," ER24 says.
Five others sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated on the scene before being transported to hospital.
"The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known. At this stage, it appears as if no other vehicle was involved in the collision," ER24 says.
