ICYMI: Govt confirms November fuel price hike
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy on Friday announced a hike in the fuel price for November.
Both grades of petrol will increase by 51c a litre, while diesel will increase by R1,43 a litre.
This while illuminating paraffin is expected to increase by 77c a litre.
The new price kicks in on Wednesday.
Department of Energy spokesperson Robert Maake says the main reason for the increase is the higher oil prices.
"The reason for this fuel price adjustment are the higher oil prices and the weaker rant versus the US dollar, which led to high prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin.
“LP gas prices decrease due to the lower prices of propane and butane during the period under review, the slate levy also decreased by 13.14 cents per litre in the price structure of both petrol and diesel," adds Maake.
