If SIU report implicates me, action must be taken - Lesufi

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says action must be taken if he is implicated in a Special Investigating Unit (SIU) report into the R431 million school sanitation programme.

“I’m disappointed, but let’s deal with it at a later stage,” he said on Monday.
“I will act immediately. I'm waiting for that report, I will act without any fear or favour.
“Anything that has been mentioned in that report that mentioned whoever is mentioned I will act. Even if it mentions my name, someone must act against me.”
Lesufi made the comments at the Cornwall Hill College on Monday where parents and pupils protested against allegations of racism and a lack of transformation.
On Friday, the SIU announced that it would be freezing the bank accounts of companies linked to the Gauteng school sanitising programme.
The bank accounts belong to 14 service providers and totals over R431 million.
