Community members surrounded the house on Wednesday as Gauteng Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane visited the victims' relatives.

A pungent smell surrounded the yard as grisly details emerged of the fate that befell the three women and four children.

There was a  burnt mattress at the gate, where its believed some of the bodies were found.

Nkosi-Malobane struggled to hold back the tears as she comforted a father of one of the children.

"It looks like a sharp object was used to commit the murders. Some of the details I cannot divulge some of the other information because of nobody, not even an animal deserves to die like that," Nkosi-Malobane told the media.

One man, who was living with the family, has been taken in for questioning by police.

The seven were last seen alive on Friday, October 19.

Police have since launched a manhunt for another man, who had been living with the family for three months.

The suspect is known to the community as Sibusiso Ernest Khoza, but documents allegedly found in the house reveal that he is a Zimbabwean by the name of Ernst Mabaso

“He wormed his way into the family, claiming that he was a child of the late brother of the two women who were killed. He found them on Facebook and through interaction and later they met him. We are currently looking for and we are confident that law enforcement agencies will track him down,” said Nkosi-Malobane.

She said more information about the man is known but cannot be divulged as it may be detrimental to the case.
