Include us in your plans - demand Freedom Park residents
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The community of Freedom Park plan to demonstrate outside the ANC's headquarters, Luthutli House in Johannesburg on Monday.

They want to be substantially included in the process of reclaiming land.
"We want to be involved in the planning of the development itself. In doing that, we will be able to make sure that there is no corruption involved. In the past, houses will be built, and our residents excluded and they wouldn't even receive a house," says community leader Thami Hukwe.
In early October, residents embarked on a march to demand the acceleration of the rapid land release programme.
The initiative aims to redistribute government land not in use to the residents in the spesific area.
Hukwe says if residents are included in the process, corruption in the tendering process could come to an end.
He says government can also use this as an opportunity to upskill residents.
"If we are involved, we will also know the data of the people that are supposed to be allocated houses. We also want our community members to be skilled - so let our residents be trained to build these houses ourselves."
