Increase in court conviction rate: NPA
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
National Prosecution Authority (NPA) head Shamila Batohi says the conviction rate in the country's courts has increased drastically.

Batohi was in Parliament to present the prosecuting body's 2018/2019 annual report on Tuesday.
She said together with the police, they need to strengthen measures to tackle the trio crimes - business robberies, house breaking and vehicle hijacking.

Batohi, who took over the reins midway through this previous financial year, told Members of Parliament that the NPA's performance left a lot to be desired.
She said while they are trying to turn the situation around there is a lack of finances.
She told Parliament they are desperate for funds and have not been able to fill posts as a result.
