Ingonyama Trust falls under tenure reform, says Didiza
Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Thoko Didiza says the Ingonyama Trust falls under rural tenure reform.

Didiza made the remarks at a briefing on the recommendations of the Presidential Advisory Panel on Land Reform in Pretoria on Thursday.
The royal Ingonyama Trust has been accused of “extorting” rent from rural communities in KwaZulu-Natal without their consent.
Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini is the sole trustee of 2.8 million hectares of land through the Ingonyama Trust.
He has lashed out at plans to have the Ingonyama Trust Land Act repealed and has vowed to fight for the land under his custodianship.
Didiza says there are no definite policies positions on tenure reform in South Africa.
"Whether we are going for a universal tenure system, which is freehold title, or we go for a multiplicity tenure reform."
