Injuries from Worcester gas explosion rises to 6

The number of injured following a petrol tanker explosion in Worcester in the Western Cape has risen to six.
Spokesperson for Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs James Styan says a tanker transporting liquefied petroleum gas exploded in an industrial area on Wednesday morning.
It is believed that the tanker reversed into a lamp pole, causing some damage to the tank and the release of a vapour cloud of gas.

A bakkie then drove through the cloud causing it to ignite.

Stayn says the fires have since been extinguished.
"The number of injured parties has increased to six this includes two additional civilians and a security guard who have been treated for burn wounds.
"The other three people injured was a civilian driver of a bakkie involved in the incident and two firefighters. The firefighters have already been released from hospital."

The municipality has met with the five businesses whose buildings were destroyed.
It is also in the process of restoring water and electricity supply.
