Insufficient evidence to pursue case against DJ Fresh & Euphonik - NPA
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says it does not have sufficient evidence to prosecute DJ Fresh and Euphonik.
A Johannesburg woman laid a rape charge against the pair last year, saying the two popular DJs drugged and raped her and three others 10 years ago.
"The docket was indeed presented to the prosecutor,” says the NPA’s Lumka Mahanjana.
“Upon perusal of all the available evidence in the docket, a decision not to prosecute was taken. There are no prospects of successful prosecution on the available evidence because the evidence is insufficient.”

DJ Fresh, whose real name is Thato Sikwane and Euphonik, who was born Themba Nkosi, released a statement on Monday.
“As we’ve said before, these are false allegations and we are deeply saddened that GBV, a serious crisis in South Africa, was weaponised in this manner,” the two said.
