Jason Rohde files for leave to appeal

Convicted murderer Jason Rohde filed for leave to appeal his conviction and 20-year sentence on Tuesday.

The former property mogul was found guilty for murdering his wife, Susan Rohde, in July 2016 and defeating the ends of justice for tampering with the evidence to try make it look like a suicide.
He was sentenced to 18 years for murder and five years for defeating the ends of justice in the Western Cape High Court, three of which will run concurrently.

He will spend an effective 20 years behind bars.
Spokesperson for the NPA in the Western Cape, Eric Ntabazalila, confirmed that the papers were filed in the Western Cape High Court.
Susan's death came at as a result of Rhode’s alleged affair with an estate agent.
