JHB man defends home with samurai sword

Police in Gauteng have launched an investigation after a man attacked suspected house robbers in his home in the south of Johannesburg early Friday morning.

According to police Constable Elizabeth Mnguni the man was woken by three men who gained access to his Bassonia home through a sliding door around 4.00am.
"They (suspects) tried to stab him with a crowbar and he defended himself with a sword," Mnguni said.
One suspect was injured in the attack and was taken to hospital under police guard. A second suspect was arrested while the third suspect managed to get away.
A case of house robbery has been opened.
