JMPD officers attacked at an after tears party

A Johannesburg Metro Police officer is in hospital after he was attacked with three others trying to shut down an after tears celebration in Protea Glen Soweto.
JMPD Spokesperson, Wayne Minaar says the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon.
"Four officers were assaulted yesterday when they responded to a complaint of an after tears party in progress. They went to the address and requested the individuals to disperse and while they were confiscating liquor they were attacked,"

"One officer was seriously injured, he suffered a fractured nose and left hand. Two individuals were arrested and one VW Golf was impounded. We want to remind communities that there is no after tears gatherings and alcohol consumption is prohibited under level 3," said Minaar
