Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) has confirmed two of its officers have been taken off duty pending an investigation.
It comes after a video emerged online of the officers seemingly soliciting a bribe.
JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says the video is still under investigation.
"The two officers have been identified. A case docket of extortion has been opened at Jeppestown Police Station and the two officers have been taken out of uniform."
He says the pair will likely be transferred to admin duties pending the investigation.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
