Johannesburg metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla has urged motorists to plan their routes amid Monday morning's protests in the city.

Roads in Westdene and Westberry have been blocked off to traffic due to protests in the area due to poor service delivery, including poor health services at the Helen Joseph Hospital.
Affected roads included Perth Road in Westbury and Westdene blocking traffic between Fourth Avenue and Harmony Street.
Fihla has urged motorists to exercise caution.
"The situation is calm beside the road closure. Expect heavy delays in the area, especially on the main road joining Perth Road and within Westdene and Westberry as vehicles are being directed from the closure on Perth Road.
"Motorists are urged to avoid and to use Serpentine Avenue in Hursthill, Hayview on Florida road in Westberry and Albertina Sisulu in Industria as alternative routes."
Meanwhile, in the South of Joburg, residents in Eldorado Park have also taken to the streets to express their anger over the deployment of police officers in the area following a shooting more than a week ago.
"Union Avenue in Eldorado Park has been barricaded off to traffic with burning tires and rocks near Cavendish Street and Van Zeeburg Avenue. This is due to protest actions in the area, motorists are urged to exercise and use alternative routes,” says Fihla.
