Joburg mayor to visit Sakhumzi Restaurant
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The Johannesburg Executive Mayor, Herman Mashaba, will visit Sakhumzi Restaurant in Vilakazi Street, Soweto this afternoon.

This comes after the restaurant's manager, a 60 year-old man originally from Ghana, was murdered Sunday night.
Mashaba says the restaurant was also attacked last year, with robbers getting away with some money from the restaurant's premises.
''We cannot sit idly by while this historic street, and important township economic hub in our city, is held hostage by criminal elements. The proper functioning of such economic hubs is integral to our achievement of our targeted five percent economic growth, as well to the reduction of unemployment to under 20 percent by 2021,'' says Mashaba.
Mashaba also added that he hopes that by working together with local police, and the greater Soweto community, they can ensure that they create environments that allow for businesses to operate safely and freely.
Mashaba will be joined by MMC for Economic Development, Sharon Peetz.
