Joburg metro cop shot and killed during hijacking

A Johannesburg metro police officer has been shot and killed during a hijackingoutside his home in Dube Village, Soweto.
Metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla says Neo Sepuru was driving his private vehicle in uniform on Wednesday when he was hijacked.
The attackers pounced when was coming from a departmental soccer match in Marlboro.
"It's alleged that before officer Sepuru was hijacked the suspects had robbed a vehicle in the same area, but they abandoned the vehicle due to a breakdown.

“The hijackers then approached officer Sepuru, taking him and his vehicle. At the time of the incident officer Sepuru was still wearing his JMPD uniform," says Fihla.
Tracker managed to pick up the vehicles signal at Jabulani hostel where the hijackers are alleged to have stripped Sepuru of his uniform, socks, and boots.
Fihla says the suspects pushed him out of the vehicle and shot him twice.
"He sustained fatal wounds to his left upper body and the back of his neck. The hijacked vehicle was found abandoned and set alight at Mbatha and Dlamini Street in Jabulani not far from where officer Sepuru was found.”
