Speaker Vasco Da Gama has lost a no-confidence motion in the Johannesburg Council in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Da Gama, who had to announce his fate, was kicked out of the seat with 136 votes over 132 votes against.
The council sitting which started on Wednesday morning concluded around 1am Thursday.
The no-confidence motion was backed by the ANC and EFF.
The official opposition in the council, the ANC, is accusing Da Gama of wasteful expenditure.
The DA-led coalition government has been under pressure after opposition parties joined forces in an attempt to also oust incumbent Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse.
Meanwhile, Phalatse says they are confident that they will restore order.
"I would like to assure residents that the work of repairing and rebuilding the City remains on track and will not be affected by the outcome of the motion against Cllr Da Gama.
"We note with utter shame that certain members of the coalition elected to vote in favour of the motion, we are also aware that ahead of the motion there were allegations of bribery, which will be detailed in an affidavit."
