Joburg Water completes repairs at Honeydew reservoir
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Johannesburg Water says repairs on a pipe at the Honeydew reservoir have been completed.
The repairs were finished at midnight on Tuesday, and water has begun flowing into the reservoir.
The reservoir had been struggling to build capacity, leaving scores of residents in Randburg and surrounding areas without water during the Easter weekend.
Some of the affected areas include Sundowner, Honeydew, Northgate and Northriding.
In a statement, the entity said roaming water trucks will continue supplying water to affected residents.
"The system is currently slowly filling up while Johannesburg Water continues to monitor the situation to ensure there is no reoccurrence.
"Currently, the Olivedale reservoir is low, while the Honeydew reservoir is supplying in bypass mode.
"Some residents have already begun getting water supply, while others (particularly in high-lying areas) will see an improvement in their water supply during the course of the day."
