Joburg’s chief whip shot and wounded

The City of Johannesburg’s chief whip of council, Sithembiso Zungu, has been wounded in a shooting.
The city confirmed the incident on Monday, saying Zungu was taken to hospital for medical attention.
The city said Zungu was shot in the south of Johannesburg while attending to official council business on Monday.
"Further details on the incident will be communicated at a later stage," the statement read.
The city urged Joburg residents not to share unconfirmed reports on the incident.
