Johannesburg water supply improves
Updated | By ANA
Johannesburg Water on Monday said the Forest Hill reservoir, which had run dry, was recovering steadily.
As a result of the reservoir running dry, some areas in Johannesburg had run out of water. Affected areas included Townsview, Forest Hill, parts of Winchester Hills, Rosettenville ext 2, 3 and 5, Oakdene, The Hills, Robertsham, Chrisville and parts of Turffontein.
Johannesburg Water spokesperson Hilgard Matthews said: ” The measures implemented over the past few days have improved the situation.”
Matthews urged residents to remain active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Johannesburg.
“Residents will experience poor pressure until the reservoir is fully recovered. We are currently flushing out air in the system in order to restore water in Oakdene (high-lying area),” Matthews said.
Water restrictions would remain in place. - ANA
