Journo refuses to remain silent on racism defamation suit against Media24, Haffajee
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
Lawyers have confirmed a settlement between Media24, former City Press editor Ferial Haffajee and four former staffers in a racism defamation lawsuit - dating back to 2013.

One of the employees involved in the matter Denvor De Wee told Jacaranda FM News he consented to a withdrawal of the matter because he cannot pursue it due to financial constraints.
He says he however won't sign anything formal - forcing him to remain silent on the matter.
His lawyer, Ettiene van der Merwe however believes the matter is settled despite De Wee's comments.
Jacaranda FM News contacted Haffajee who confirmed the settlement but declined to comment.
Media 24's lawyer Andrew Boerner says anyone who contravenes the stipulations of the settlement would be in breach thereof.
He confirmed: "The action was withdrawn and the dispute has been settled."
