Judgement in Flabba murder case expected
Updated | By ANA
The High Court sitting at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court will on Wednesday hand down judgement in the matter of murder accused Sindisiwe Manqele, who fatally stabbed her hip hop boyfriend Flabba of Skwatta Kamp fame.
Manqele insists she stabbed the rapper whose real name was Nkululeko Habedi in self-defence at his house in Alexandra on 9 March earlier this year. Habedi was 38 years old when he died.
Manqele, 26, was a registered student of Economics at Griffith College, a private private college in the city of Dublin in the Republic of Ireland when the tragic incident occured. She told the court that she had been in South Africa on a visit when she stabbed her lover.
The accused’s advocate, Norman Makhubela, last month told the court that if Manqele had not stabbed Habedi it would have been her in the body bag.
Prosecuter Paul Schutt disputes the accused’s claim, saying that Manqele’s acknowledgement after the stabbing that she “made a mistake” was an addmission that she had done something wrong.
Manqele is out on bail of R10 000.
Judge Solly Sithole will deliver judgement in the matter today.
