Judgement reserved in Vuwani case
Updated | By Maidi Monareng
Judgement in the Vuwani demarcation case in Limpopo is expected next week Friday.
Legal representatives for Vuwani residents and the Department of Cooperative Governance have been slugging it out in the Limpopo High Court on Friday.
The community is adamant not enough consultation took place before they were incorporated into a new municipality.
Vuwani residents want the decision taken, overturned.
Vuwani traditional leader Mbagiseni Masia said they are confident the court would rule in their favour.
"We still have the same expectations of being victorious over evil. We still have the same expectations of sanity prevailing at the end, but we are not the people who make such determinations. Such determinations are made by the judiciary," he said.
The Municipal Demarcation Board's Jane Thupana said they were satisfied with their representation.
"The citizens out there need to understand that the board is not looking for a win-win situation. This is not about winning or losing. This is about constitutional democracy being the winner," Thupana said.
