The five men accused of the involvement in the murder of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa maintained their innocence on Friday.

Muzikawulahlelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Mncube, Mthokosizi Maphisa, and Sifiso Ntuli made their second appearance in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.
Sibiya, Maphisa and Ntuli, who did not have legal representation at the first appearance, indicated they will be applying for legal aid.
Mncube who was wearing a T-shirt with the slogan ‘I want justice to be done, I am not a killer of Senzo Meyiwa’ and said he did not want a lawyer.
He interrupted the magistrate several times asking to address the court.
Magistrate Hans Hanvenga told the accused they will not be allowed to address the court as this could jeopardise their case.

Ntuli's uncle Scelo told the media outside court that they believe Meyiwa's killers are being protected.
"Why are the people who were there when he was killed not appearing in court? the people who were there know what happened, but the truth is not coming out. What we heard was that one-person murdered Meyiwa and now there are so many accused persons. We are not okay as the family," said Ntuli.
He said they also believe the people who are being protected have a lot of money.
The matter was postponed to March next year for further investigation.
The state also wants the case to be transferred to the high court.

Meanwhile, Meyiwa's brother Sifiso was unhappy with the 3-month postponement.
"What happened in court is a delay of justice. I believe in God, but I cannot say God is delaying us, however, I do think there is a reason for this delay. There is more information that will be given to the police and to AfriForum. Justice will eventually be done.”
He said the family is anticipating the arrest of the so-called mastermind behind his brother's murder.
