The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced the pregnancy at the weekend.
In a statement from Kensington Palace, it's been confirmed that Middleton is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum.
She's experiencing excessive nausea and vomiting.
While it is extremely common for women to experience sickness and nausea during pregnancy, this condition is much more serious.
Some women who suffer from this condition have an inability to keep food and drink down.
According to information published in the Wisconsin Medical Journal, between 0.3% and 2% of all pregnant women suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum.
It can have a detrimental effect on the mother and foetus if left untreated.
