Kathrada Foundation, SACP, to oppose state capture 'fightback'
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, the South African Communist Party (SACP) and several civil society organisations have launched a campaign against what they call the “state capture fightback”.
The organisations held a media briefing at the Constitutional Hill on Thursday.
This comes after the three-day testimony of former president Jacob Zuma at the commission of inquiry into state capture, where he criticised the establishment of the commission and his supporters called for the commission's terms of reference to be expanded.

A mass rally will be held on Sunday to unite people around the call to protect those who are speaking out against state capture.
"We will meet all those who think they can take us back to the dark days on the streets in a democratic fashion and we will not allow any intimidation or bullying from anyone," said the SACP’s Solly Mapaila.
He added that they will also expose political parties who are being funded by criminal syndicates who are at the forefront of the so-called fightback.
