"I can confirm that Nkosinathi Msimango has presented himself alongside his lawyer at one of our police stations. No further comment," said police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.

Thieves fled with 15 computers from the Chief Justice's Human Resources department.

The computers contain sensitive information about judges.

Earlier this week during a press briefing, acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane called on Msimango to come forward to assist with the investigation.

"The South African Police Service is calling upon Mr Nkosinathi Msimango, who was in the vicinity of Mamelodi on the day of the arrests and who has valuable information and insight into the commission of this crime, to approach the investigating officer and/or report to the nearest police station to assist in this matter," Phahlane said.

Three suspects were arrested days after the break-in.

Two of them have already appeared in court, but on charges not related to the break-in.
