Khoza: I'm not the only one being threatened

African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament, Makhosi Khoza, says she is not the only person being threatened and intimidated ahead of the motion of no confidence debate in President Jacob Zuma in August.

Khoza has taken to Facebook to share threatening messages she has received on her cellphone.

Khoza was taking part in a panel discussion on corruption last night, which forms part of a series of lectures on Nelson Mandela's legacy.

She says Communications Minister, Ayanda Dlodlo, has been mentioned in one of the messages she received.

"There is a lot of intimidation. Some of you might have heard that those who may be voting for the vote of no confidence have been synonymised with suicide bombers. We have also been threatened with dismissal and I am one of those people who have been accused of extreme ill-discipline and I may be charged," says Khoza.

Opposition parties are calling for the vote of no confidence to be done by secret ballot, saying they hope ANC MPs will vote with their conscience.

The ruling party has stated several times that ANC MPs will vote alone party lines.
