Fezekile Ntsukela Kuzwayo who accused President Jacob Zuma of rape in 2005 ago has died.
The Kuzwayo family released a statement confirming that she passed away on Saturday.
Kuzwayo was commonly known as Khwezi, a name the media gave her during her rape trial.
"It is with our deepest sorrow that the Kuzwayo family announces the passing of our daughter Fezekile Ntsukela Kuzwayo," the family said in a statement.
"Fezeka who passed on yesterday, was a loving soul. A daughter, a sister and an aunt we will forever hold dear in our hearts. We loved her in life, let us never forget her after death."
The cause of death is unclear at this stage.
The family have asked to be given space to mourn privately.
"A private funeral service will be held for close family and friends. Information about her public memorial service will be announced in due course."
In December 2005, Zuma was charged with rape and on 8 May 2006, the Johannesburg High Court acquitted him.
